Impact Concrete > Safety
At Impact Concrete, safety isn’t a binder on a shelf or a box to check. It’s how we plan, lead, and execute work every day. From estimating and precon through mobilization, daily production, and closeout, we build safety into the process so every teammate, partner, and client goes home safely.
We believe every incident is preventable and every job can be done safely. Our goal is simple: zero injuries, zero shortcuts, and a jobsite culture where people speak up early and look out for each other. No work is so urgent that it can’t be done safely.
Safety Built Into Every Step
Safety starts before the first truck shows up and stays active through every phase of our projects.
Precon and Planning
We identify high-risk activities early and build controls into the plan, the schedule, the means and methods, and the manpower.
Before Mobilization
Every project starts with a site-specific safety plan that matches the real conditions, access, logistics, and scope.
Daily Execution
Field leadership communicates a daily pre-task plan so the crew understands today’s hazards, controls, and expectations before work begins.
How We Work Safely on Every Project
Our program is designed to be practical in the field, not just compliant on paper.
Site-specific safety planning prior to mobilization
Daily pre-task planning and communication before work starts
Routine jobsite inspections and safety audits to identify and correct hazards
Corrective actions and follow-up to prevent repeat issues
Stop-work authority for every employee and partner on site (we expect people to use it)
Clear reporting and documentation for incidents and near-misses so we learn and improve.
Training and Leadership
Safety is everyone’s job, and it starts with trained leadership. We invest in orientation, task-specific training, and ongoing refreshers so the plan in the morning matches what's happening in the field.
- New-hire safety orientation before stepping onto the jobsite
- Ongoing training scheduled throughout the year, including role-based and task-based topics
- Weekly toolbox talks led by first-line supervision
- Field leadership development so expectations stay consistent across crews
- Coordinate safety expectations during precon and before mobilization
- Follow the site-specific safety plan and daily pre-task plan
- Maintain clean work areas, access, and housekeeping
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately so we can act fast
Stretch & Flex
Concrete work is physical. A short, consistent stretch routine helps reduce strains, improve mobility, and get the body ready for the work ahead. We encourage stretch and flex at the start of shift and after lunch.
Safety is a Culture
Rules matter, but culture is what people do when nobody is watching. We promote a jobsite environment where teammates take personal responsibility, share lessons learned, and address issues immediately and respectfully.
